Andre Birleanu

Andre Birleanu was born August 7, 1982. Was born in Moscow and was partly raised in Romania, the only child of two diplomats — Vladimir and Carmen Birleanu. His father is a Romanian lawyer. His Russian mother, who is deceased, used to work for the United Nations in New York City. Birleanu arrived in New York in 1996, invited by his mother in search of a new life and education. He was accepted by John Jay College of Criminal Justice, hoping to follow in his father's footsteps in international criminal law as well as forensic psychology. In his second year of school Birleanu was discovered by Calvin French, then artistic director of Boss Models NY. Birleanu married his long-term girlfriend, Alessandra Fiore, on November 14, 2007. The following month the pair learned that they were expecting a baby.

Birleanu's agencies are Boss Models, in New York City; Next Models, in Miami and Los Angeles; Ford Models, in Chicago; MRA Models, in Bucharest; and M4 Models, in Hamburg.

Andre was controversial on the reality TV show, being an aggressive competitor; another contestant, Mandy Lynn, described him as an "aggressive, opinionated guy". In October 2007, he was charged with sexual misconduct and aggravated harassment due to accusations from a 19-year-old actress, charges which he denied. According the law enforcement sources quoted in the New York Post, he "has served a half-dozen prison stints since 2000 on charges including assault, harassment, criminal contempt, criminal mischief and trespassing."
